Summer Term Task

Hi Allan, Jade & Harri
Work to start this term

• We are going to work in a groups of 3.
• Create our own Production company
• Decide specific roles for each member of the group - e.g. Director, Props & Costumes, Location Hunter, Cameraman, Editor, Script Writer/Story Boards, Sound Technician etc (You may have multi roles)
• Create two blogs - One to record your personal work & your role - planning research etc
• Use your posts to to add to the Production Companies Blog (Multiple contributors)

Task for this term:

To establish potential Working groups & focus on A2 Brief selection
You will Plan a short video ( Less than a minute) based on your interpretation of a real Media artefact - This can be a section of a Film Trailer - Advert - Music Video
You must:

1. Research agreed style model
2. Script-write & Storyboard the ideas
3. Rehearse the Scene with Actors within the group
4. Film
5. Edit
6. Post you individual & Group work
7. Present to Audience (Our Class) with agreed Time Frame, (Agreed by Us)

In the 'Group folder' you will find a folder labelled 'A2 4 Questions Exemplars"

• You will find some previous responses to Evaluation 1-4.
• All these are presented in KeyNote/PPT versions but would be a useful way to plan your draft answers before converting to PODCAST/VIDEO/SLIDESHARE etc later.
• Have a look at the 'A2 Template for 4 questions' - This may be a useful way to plan your initial answers.
• QUALITY control - Some of the sample blogs do not have enough posts, are not up to your quality but will provide a framework for your answers.
• I have placed a CONVENTIONS Music PPT in the group which will help you with your answers to Question 1
• Also USE GOOGLE - Type in the exact 'Evaluation question' search engine and multiple posts will appear. Again ensure quality control.

Christmas round the corner.......

Well festive Media Chums,
You know the score this week - Post, post, post like Santa's little helpers and make sure that I have evidence of draft Video work posted on your personal blog.
It is my intention to have a phased return to school next week (My Doctor is not too convinced but ...) so I hope to catch up with you all for a 10 minute tutorial to assess your progress.
Anyway some have completed their pre-Xmas work to an excellent standard and I am really grateful for their focussed work. Some however have a considerable amount of work to do this week.
Enjoy your build up to Christmas and I was delighted to hear that you had a fantastic time in London.

Christmas is Coming

Hi my 'Advanced' students,

Fab 5 - Xmas Beatles with Sweep

Firstly Happy first of December - Christmas is really just round the corner and this will be a really busy time for you all. 

Can I ask the following from you please:

1. I have only received one email regarding 'work support' and issues with 'group attendance' so I am presuming that you are all on target for our agreed goal of completing Draft coursework by Christmas. (Work expectations are clearly presented on the 2014 Assessment Schedule & the previous posts on my blog). Some of you are a number of posts missing so I will presume that you have prepared them but not published and posted then.

PLEASE PUBLISH ALL YOUR POSTS THIS WEEK PLEASE. (Next week by the absolute latest)

2. I hope to be back in school before Xmas and I intend to organise 10 minute Tutorials will all students to review work. This will enable me to assess your progress and plan the amount of additional support you require in the New Year.

3. I am making progress and will start 'physio' sessions this week to increase mobility in my right knee. I am optimistic (as usual) that I will begin to rapidly improve my mobility and hopefully 'hop' into school before the end of Term. I am targeting presenting the Christmas Concert but will be influenced by medical advice

Week commencing 24th November

Morning my Advanced media chums, 

Your tasks continue to ensure that there is evidence of all your draft filming/editing on your individual blogs supported by informative posts (see previous posts for work structure). We should be looking at least 30+ posts by the end of term. 

Some of the work is fantastic but a few students have not completed the work expected of A level students. (Some have blogs with last entries on 5th Nov - 12th Nov and one student's last post was before half term in October.) 

Please make sure that your posts are all published. If you have any issues please contact me.

Please ensure that any equipment borrowed is promptly returned for use by others.
